Risite Heriarvelo from Institute for Nanomaterials & Nanotechnology visits the Materials Science Institute of Seville for 2 months

“I am a young researcher at the Institute of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology (MAScIR Foundation) in Morocco.
I am working on polymer nanocomposites based on nanoclay particles.
My work is focused first on the functionalization of polymers and surface modification of nanoclays in order to enhance the properties of polymer by the improvement of dispersion/exfoliation/distribution and favorable specific interactions of the nano-sized clay lamellae with the polymeric matrix; following by the characterization, behavior studies of the materials and modeling. I joined the ICMS for two months of stay in order to characterize the structure of the nanocomposites by SEM and TEM observations, through the collaboration between the ICMS and the Institute of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology.”
