1st Al-NanoFunc Workshop: “Advanced Microstructural Characterization of NanoMaterials”
It was a great honor to organize the 1st Al-NanoFunc Workshop in “Advanced Microstructural Characterization of Nanomaterials” on July 5-6, 2012.
This two days’ workshop addressed the latest advances in microstructural characterization of nanomaterials. Reflecting the main objectives and character of Al-NanoFunc project, it aimed to be an open discussion forum to bring together senior and young scientists in the field.

During this
workshop a ceremony dedicated to prof. Guillermo Munuera in occasion of his retirement was organized. Prof. Guillermo Munuera had an invited plenary talk.
Asuncion Fernandez remembered some curiosities about the early beginnings of the Materials Science Institute of Seville and the important role of Prof. Guillermo Munuera in the research of the Institute.
