Within the collaborations stablished during the Kickoff meeting, Lionel Cervera Gontard started the first Al-Nanofunc stay.
Taking advantage of the high resolution microscopes in the Ernst Ruska Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy in Jülich (Germany), gold nanoparticles produced at the University of Namur (FUNDP – Belgium) for antibody targeting in cancer therapy are going to be investigated.
Lionel:“The main objective of this study is to get a better understanding on chemistry and structure of the capping layers of nanoparticles and films. The synthesis of these materials can be done via wet chemistry and physical chemistry. In this project, samples synthetized using both routes will be examined and studied using different TEM techniques in order to gain insight in their electrical, chemical, optical and structural properties.“
